New to Forum. Have encountered twice updating function starting then stopping stating error. (no error reference). I repaired once and it corrected. But this second time won’t correct. Wondering if I should just uninstall and reinstall?
I have had difficulty finding relevant answers on this.
- Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version…?
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
- Other security related software installed…?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Thank you for assistance and responses. I was able to establish that the problem was a partial dysfunction of the DNS server I was using. i.e. it wasn’t resolving Avast service. I changed DNS server and reinstalled (after encountering the same problem not completing re-installation, which gave the clue). Now operating correctly.
What operating system ???
