Error while launching avast installer

Ive just installed Windows xp profesional sp3 on my computer and installed the drivers etc … then I downloaded the installer (the 56 mb one) and when I tried to launch it it says “Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed”. I had no problem installing firefox, adobe air, VLC, Reaper and other programs but I tried to download several times the installer and the same happens. I also installed the updates but nothing …
I didn´t found anyone with the same problem.

Try:

  • Click start/run, type services.msc and click “ok”. Scroll down to “Windows Installer” and double click it. Stop the service if it is running, set the startup type line to disabled. Click apply/ok and reboot.

if that is not working:
Buy/borrow another cd/dvd player and start all over.
It could be it is (partionally) broken.
