Avast 4 Home Edition on Dell computer with windows me o/s
Recently install avast operating ok until I added e-mail account
I install YahooPop 0.6 to retrieve messages to Outlook Express 6
I get an error message 10048[0x00002740] " Port 110 already in Use" see " Cooperaton with other software"
The instructions are to change ini.file smptlisten-127.0.0.1:26
poplisten=127.0.0.1:111 imaplisten=127.0.0.1:144
There are no listen files in my ini.file Do I add these under mail scanner.
My mail account wt.net pop=110 and smtp=25
My mail account yahoopop is also pop110 smtp 25
Do I change both of these or just one.
Log shows changed in pop start settings changed:1[0x00000001]
pop default server settings changed :mail.wt.net
pop listen settings changed:127.0.0.1 110
smtp start setting changed::1[0x00000001}
smtp default server settings changed:smtp.wtnet 25
smtp listen settings changed:127.0.0.1 25

what do i do?
Some other application is using the port 143. You can check which one with TCPView of www.sysinternals.com.
After that, we can guide you to configure avast! and the other application to run together.
Do you use MS Outlook (full) and the IMAP protocol in your emails?
Any other email application or spam killer?
