what does this mean, if anything, i only get in on laptop, files are not there
Are you running the scan as an admin?
usually im log in as “standard” user, when the scheduled scan runs.
Do the messages come if you’re running into an admin account?
What you see in the list of results are not folder, but rather links (to different folders).
Those links are wrong on your machine - they probably lead to a different disk, instead of back to the system drive (where they should). We’ve seen it a few times in the past… don’t know what may have caused it - possibly some strange way of installing Windows.
Anyway, I’d suggest to simply ignore these errors… or, you can uncheck the option “Follow links during scan” on the Sensitivity page of the particular scans - then avast! won’t try to resolve the link targets.
igor, thank you,
i have a desktop with the exact same setup, but avast does not give these errors, however it is true the laptop Windows 7 was installed from preloaded with the machine, whereas the desktop was installed from update disk…
in both machines i set up avast identical, with same drives to scan.
so i will simply ignore for now, as long as its sure that the files asked/needed to be scanned are actually being scannned…
