ESET Online scanner positive on Avast

Hi,

I ran last day the ESET Online scanner on my pc, and it says this:

E:\Avast\setup\aswOfferTool.exe Win32/Bundled.Toolbar.Google.D dangerous application error as follows: delete (Acces Denied)

E:\Avast\setup\offertool_x64_ais-961.vpx Win32/Bundled.Toolbar.Google.D dangerous application error as follows: delete (Acces Denied)

I know that antivirus programs can detect each other and make false positives but I’m curious that these things are okay? Back in the days the online scanner found the same at AVG.

Note:Avast self protection is activated.

@PotPot,
Note Avast and AVG are now effectively the same under the hood. If you had that result with AVG then no surprise getting with Avast.
Note that I have not used ESET myself, so cannot confirm your result.

I assume you have looked at this:

@PotPot,
Maybe you should contact Eset and inform them of their false positive detection? :slight_smile:
