The latest advice I’ve seen from aVast on this was to keep checking the release history site (http://www.avast.com/en-us/release-history-business) and wait for a post-build 1490 update. Can we at least get some ETA on this?
I’ve also seen people arguing that it’s a Microsoft bug and not an Avast bug with the 8.1 release. This is unacceptable to me, primarily b/c the HOME product was released as version 2014 prior to Windows 8.1’s release as partially compatible (with full compatibility on 10/15), whereas the business product has languished without any information whatsoever since June. There are presumably differences in the code bases between the home and business products, but why so much focus on the home product and seemingly not any on the business product? Not even a beta?
I don’t mind running something like Windows Defender for some interim period as we’re really not a high-security company, but it would be nice to at least have a basic 8.1 compatible build as a beta to try, and/or an ETA on a full release so ppl can plan their 8.1 / server 2012 R2 rollouts. If we at least had a version with basic functionality (rather than causing BSODs), that would at least be something.
