G’DAY,
SINCE INSTALLING AVAST 4.5 HOME EDITION, my EUDORA still sends mail, but will not collect mail : It gets to"Logging in to server" and stops responding, until I turn avast off. Not a good situation.
What to do?

Are you using SSL (Short for Secure Sockets Layer) connections ? avast! doesn’t support them…
What are your settings in Eudora ? I don’t use Eudora and I don’t know anything about it, but fortunately, someone who uses it, will see your post and will try to give you an answer. However, he/she will need some additional information from your side.
Pop3/SMTP Server names and other settings, system specs etc… everything is important, 'cause mail handling is not the same for Windows 98 / 98SE / ME and Windows NT / XP.
[b]Edit: also, you have to be aware that avast! 4.5 handles e-mails in a bit different way than avast! 4.1
If you are using Windows XP, no need to change your server names any more. Mail handling is completely automatic. Set your mail client exactly as if avast! doesn’t exist…[/b]
