Even though, it is said that the activity has stopped by Avast, is it justifiable? Then how trust any thing.

Hi, Thanks for the link which explained in detail.
I would continue to be with Avast, but why could not this be brought to the notice of all users , when it is daily updating as a message ?

You’re welcome.

Hi, My only concern is that Avast should not become like cnet, once trusted download site to a creator of browser hijacks, like babylon toolbars and other PUPs.
I now never use any download from that site. Even though, i select custom installation, they injected lot of unwanted toolbars, once when downloaded change your browser and limit the searches to almost nil, unlike your regular browsers, such as google.
Avast could have informed thro the update as a message at least.

In all honesty, I kind of saw Avast going in this direction as soon as I started seeing them putting Avast secureline and things in thier program. I honesty, honestly think Avast and AVG are like switching places. AVG is getting less ads and more free programs (free version of tuneup, free version of antivirus, free mobile VPN) and Avast has started going more Adware style. Which by the way, is NOT COOL!

I think if Avast is going to track its users say it how it is in the installer and in the program.

Still, I never trust free antivirus software as I would paid anyways, although there is some horrible paid antivirus suites too.

The relevant Avast guys are monitoring the other topic…!!
Best to post any feedback there: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=157693.0
