Hi cosmos,

and welcome to the avast forum.

I have a server with Os win2003 which is domain controler and mail server. My avast edition is Avast Professional 4.7.

Are you sure? I mean, Avast Professional Edition does NOT run on server-class OS. Aren’t you in fact running the Server Edition of avast? Or the managed version?

To answer your question. Please check the \data\avast4.ini file on that machine.

Is there a line that says

Database=ODBC

? If so, do you have any idea how it got there? If it’s the managed version, isn’t there similar line specified in Custom INI Settings in the ADNM console?

Anyway, what if you change the line to

Database=SQLT

and restart the server. Does it resolve the issue?

Thanks
Vlk

One more thing: if the line already says Database=SQLT, then open the registry editor, go to

HKLM\Software\ALWIL Software\Avast\4.0\SS

delete the value called “Database” (should contain some binary data) and restart the machine.

That should do it.

Thanks
vlk
