Event ID 0 from source AvastVBoxSvc cannot be found.

Please help! I keep getting this notice in the Event Viewer and can’t figure how to cure it.

Event ID 0 from source AvastVBoxSvc cannot be found.

Runing Win7 Ult with IE 11.
AMD processor with 16GB ram.

This is a newer install with new hardware. No malware found.

Try avast repair

Controlpanel > Ad/Remove programs > avast > uninstall /change > repair option … wait a minute and reboot

Thanks. I was refraining from this since it was a new install but I’ll gave it a try. Successfully repaired, rebooted twice and the error has returned.

The description for Event ID 0 from source AvastVBoxSvc cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

Bear in mind that a lot of the event viewer stuff is for deep level debugging of programmes. There is no need for the average user to even look at them as they will lead to confusion and in some cases panic

Generally you can ignore anything in there

Generally I keep my nose out of the logs, even the items in the windows event viewer flagged as Errors and not warnings I don’t get too excited about.

I start getting excited if there are hard errors displayed to the desktop/screen - even then I would only start investigating if it were a regular occurrence not a one off.

I respect your opinion, but I have this knack for spotting trashy software programs that create problems for no apparent reason. Avast needs to tidy up and clean their dirty laundry.
