I think I’ve enabled something that maybe I should not. I just started using Avast! trial and was trying to enable a report summary of sorts that other AV’s produce when a scan is completed.
Until whatever I changed I did not see every file scanned in the WinXP Event Manager under the Avast! folder. I can’t remember what if anything I changed, but in the Event logs I’m seeing ‘every’ file scanned…
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
I don’t know of anything that might do this (change setting in XP Event Viewer) but check what level of logging you have in Program Settings, Logging, the default is Notice, if this were Debug I don’t know if this might also generate more activity in the XP Event Viewer.
Can you do a screen shot of an example of what it is that you are seeing in the XP Event Viewer ?
Thanks Dave, that was the problem. I had moved the slider down to ‘Debug’ not realizing what exactly it does, now we know.
