Avast is reporting a trojan/virus in EVERLIGHT(everlight exe). Have vigorously checked this item & there is no virus/trojan contained in it.I installed this game on a second PC that has Avast installed on it but is not connected to the net & played the game without any problems. Then I manually downloaded the latest vps update on this PC & transferred it via a pendrive to the other PC.When I went to start the game again AVAST popped up & said everlight exe contained a virus/trojan.So the only way I can start this game on my more powerful PC is to disconnect the net & Avast. Please may we have an update that cures this.I already filled out & sent a report online concerning this so called virus/trojan.
Many thanks for reading this.
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive, e.g. C:\Suspect. Now exclude that folder in the Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect* That will stop the standard shield scanning any file you put in that folder. You should now be able to export any file in the chest to this folder and upload it to VirusTotal without avast alerting.
If it is indeed a false positive, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34950.msg293451#msg293451, how to report it to avast! and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.
Game now running after a further update. Thanks for the replies & thanks to Alwil for the update that cured the problem.
Thanks for reporting back the false positive correction
You’re welcome, thanks for the feedback.
