Exclusing a folder on the boot-time scan

Running avast 4.8 Pro

In Program Setting I excluded a large folder of mp3 files.

when I did a boot-time scan the exclusion did not work–it scanned the huge folder of mp3 files.

How would I exclude this folder?

Thanks,

John

When you scan within Windows, is the folder excluded from scanning?

Remember that we have two Exclusion lists:

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…

For the other providers (on-demand scanning such as the screen-saver or the Simple User Interface):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…

You can use wildcards like * and ?.

AFAIK in scheduled boot-time scan Avast is not capable of reading any exclusion lists, Avast can’t find them in boot-time scan.

Well, actually it could, it just doesn’t do.
I’ll improve the behavior.

I know this was said a couple of years ago by VLK, but is it still true?
Would have been interesting to know.

Thanks, Igor. Was just writing while you were answering.

Edit to ask: Does this mean a program-update for 4.8? Or do you mean Avast 5?

Thanks
