Exclusions not working Avast 5

I just installed a program which I trust. Avast reported it as a virus, so I added the files to the exclusions list.
But everytime I boot, Avast keeps telling me it found two virusses (one .dll and one .exe).
The files are located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ms-pnnernm.dll and C:\Program Files (x86)\Eljsoamrnhomvr\smtrawiu.exe, so I even tried to add C:\Windows\SysWOW64* and C:\Program Files (x86)\Eljsoamrnhomvr* as exclusions, restored the files and rebooted. But still it gave me the same warning and blocked access to the files when windows started.

Am I overlooking something or is Avast just acting up? If those files or folders are added to the exclusions list, it should prevent it from showing up during real-time shields right?

I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and Avast 5

Please set those exclusions in the setting of the File System Shield.

However, are you sure the program is safe?

Yes that worked. Thank you very much.

Yes the application is safe. (If you have installed it yourself ofcourse), it’s a keylogger I use to keep an eye on the kids when they use the pc.

Same problem here.
Not working even if i try to set exclusion from File System Shield.
Any solution?

The exclusions do work, you are probably entering a wrong mask.
What exactly are you trying to exclude, and what did you put into the File System Shield settings?

A .dll file.
This one: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=9d68ac98257f221338c3aacde0087bc9520deecd5dd8ad5148472404a4ce4c66-1306412980

No, what I mean is:

  • where is the file located on your disk - what is its path?
  • what exactly did you enter into the File System Shield’s list of exclusions?
  • what detection do you get after that? (again, the path shown, not the malware name)
  • Path: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\Game3
  • I’ve put the same path in the exsclusions list.
  • No alert, but i cannot copy or move the file when Avast is turn on.

Try to stop the File System Shield and start it again.

If i stop Avast is ok, but what’s the point to have an antivirus when you must keep it off?
Thanks for your time, i will get back to Avira or i’ll try another antivirus.

I said “start it again” (a second later) - not to keep it off.
