hello,
can i know better wht is it this options on firewall? friendly network, when i connetct to an home network

“If a network is detected by Avast Internet Security 2015, select a firewall mode:”
Please use the search option before posting as this has been explained several times before.
I am bumping this old thread because I could not find a really thorough explanation about this setting, which shows after a Private network is detected.
Even in Avast FAQ’s, it only says
“Private - Suitable when connected to a home or work network, including direct connections to the Internet. This setting enables authorized incoming and outgoing communication. Optionally, check the box Friendly network to allow all communication with the present network as defined in the firewall settings.”
Sorry if I am a bit dumb, but I am not clear what they mean by “allow all communication … as defined in the firewall”.
What’s the difference with not checking the “Friendly network” check box in a Private network?
More importantly, when is it safe to enable it? My guess is that a “Friendly network” is a home or work network you trust because it is behind a NAT router and you know all the devices in the LAN are malware free. Would you agree?

Yes
If you have ticked the box to say that it is a friendly network, and then later change your mind, how do you find the option to untick it?
Hi 1eyedjack
Go to : Avast - Tools - Firewall - Settings - Network profiles - (un)check “Friends” for the desired Network profile - OK.
