Experience with the program 'Audacity'

Dear Forum,

Does anybody have any experience with the program ‘Audacity’?

I would be most interested to hear your comments, thoughts, suggestions and anything else you would care to contribute!!

A serious concern of mine with unknown programs is the danger of spyware, malware and viruses.

Thanks and I look forward to your reply!

Hi Avastfan1,

Audacity the audio editor?

I have - it’s pretty good

There is even a portable version if you don’t want to install it on the machine:

Hi Spg Scott,

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly the program I meant!

I will try it out!!

Best regards,

I normally test freeware on a virtual PC before installing on the real machine.

Audacity is great little audio editing program (as with many things on sourceforge). Be sure to grab the lamemp3.dll plugin and install it as well, as most likely you’ll want to use mp3 capability.

I actually created a group policy installer to automatically install it on all of the computer lab computers that I work on at one of my customer’s sites. They use it extensively.

Hey sIdh(scythe) i have so many updates for windows xp which i have to install every time I install xp. anyway i have integrated sp3 with my sp2 cd. but, i need to do something which makes a one click install of all the updates. any ideas?.

I’ve never tried this, I’ve only slipstreamed service packs, then manually downloaded any remaining updates, but it may be worth a try: http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack-sp3.html

some more links scythe, please.

edit : thank you for the previous one. i have to check it in detail.
