To allow ping to work through avast, I had to change
avastcfg://Firewall/Friewall/FirewallMode from 2 to 1
avastcfg://Firewall/SystemRules/IncomingPingAndTrace from 0 to 1
avastcfg://Firewall/SystemRules/OutgoingPingAndTrace from 0 to 1
avastcfg://Firewall/SystemRules/WindowsFileAndPrintersSharing from 0 to 1

I want to know what firewallmode does and it’s values?

The FirewallMode property represents the Security Zones in the firewall.

  1. Home - Low Risk Zone.
  2. Work - Medium Risk Zone.
  3. Public - High Risk Zone.

in the new version (beta available now at http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=97654.0) of the settings was moved to UI. Do you miss some of them? We tried to mimic all the setting of standalone avast client.

to allow ping work I had to change avastcfg://Firewall/Friewall/FirewallMode from 2 to 1 (it’s less secure)
is there anyway of allowing ping to work keeping avastcfg://Firewall/Friewall/FirewallMode = 2?
