I received a warning about an invected file and was not allowed to clean, delete or quarintine. I was unable to manually find this file also. It is located in my temp_avast4_\unp13258921. Anyone know anything about find this file and get rid of this virus?

You can simply delete the file - it certainly should be possible to delete this one.

The point of my email was that I was not allowed to delete the file and was unable to locate the file to manullay delete it.

what Win do you have ?
Avast Home or Pro ? What version number for mainprog & VPS ?

do you still get this warning/alert ?
if so,

  • please post the complete exact path/folder/filename & virusname
  • can you then find/delete the file in SafeMode (F8-Boot) ?

could be a finding in an archive which avast unpacks for scanning;
will probably be gone when TEMP-folder is emptied/avast finished scanning

or Igor might elucidate…
