I just downloaded Avast yesterday, and after turning it off once, and opening it today my explorer.exe didn’t run at startup. I tried to run it manually, but it doesn’t run saying that it has a virus. After running Avast manually(for some reason it wasn’t running at the startup too), I scanned it manually, but it shows up clean. Any ideas? Is my computer actually infected, or is this some kind of a bug?
I just fixed the issue through regedit by changing the Winlogon shell data. It said explorer.exe there too, but after I retyped the same thing and restarted it worked fine. At least this once it’s working fine.
