Explorer.exe crashing

Well, I’m in hot waters…
From time to time, explorer.exe is crashing. Not the taskbar, but the Windows Explorer process (as I’ve set them to run in separate processes).
The faulty module seems to be C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
It might be a filter driver of some sort that intercepts network accesses.

  1. I’ve generated the dumps of explorer.exe.
  2. I’ve run sfc /scannow. The generated log in unbelievable impossible to understand log

After all, any suggestions?

I have seen this once before on a friends system

it can be complicated but will work fine after wards
when you start system try this press f8 then choose last known system settings that worked or word to that effect

the system will got into a bar effect and system will start if you get a blank screen press ctrl+alt+del select new tasks go into windows folder find explorer press ok
then connect to internet download advanced systems care and use the win fix utility it works for me

failing all that partition drive and install new copy of windows
and just a note stay of bad web sites like porn channels they contain bad viruses thats where fault like this come from

Hi Tech,
Did the scan found any corrupted file?If yes,did you replace it?

Thanks, but I have this for days… weeks… I was just too lazy to troubleshoot… So last known good is not an option.

For sure my computer is clean…

I can’t discover if any file is corrupted or not due to the complicated log generated…
I’ll try to run in Safe Mode later…
Thanks for the support.
Anyone from avast! team with some kind of secret knowledge about it? ???

Tech,
I had to run this through a translator. I will start poking around to see what I can find. Aren’t you using the Beta?

Left. I’ll take a look at night, when I got this notebook.
Also, pk said me this: “Hello, Sorry but I can’t identify the problem. These crashes are not related to drivers (otherwise you’d see BSODs and not user-mode crashes). DWM is app for Aero UI (maybe it helps you to identify the app you installed lately).”
It won’t be easy to solve this ::slight_smile:

Does event viewer show you anything useful?

Noting more that I’ve already posted in #1.
