When I exclude files, does this also extend to file types, i.e. .bmp, .jpeg, .gif etc.?
When or if the above are excluded, will new entries such as downloaded images or software be scanned including these new image files?
I have a ton of family photos and my own graphics. I figure I can scan them separately from time to time, but I don’t think that is necessary once they have been scanned, or is it?
You can add these files to the Files Shield exclusion list.
Left click the ‘a’ orange icon, click on the Real-Time Shields folder at left > File Shield > Expert Settings > Exclusions > Add.
You can use wildcards like * and ?. But be careful, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger. You can exclude a single file, a bunch of files with *, and folders with * at the end.
You can also add it to the general exclusion list (on demand scannings). Left click the ‘a’ orange icon, click on Settings button > Exclusions > Add.
You don’t need to run on demand scannings that often if you’re using avast resident (on access).
