I installed an external hard drive,what do I have to do to have avast protect it or is that already taken care of by having installed on C drive ?
Well I wager you’re Fully Protected. 
Anything you access of that drive is checked by avast!
If you want to make sure that everything on that drive is safe, scan the whole drive.
