I keep getting warning for a trojan horse called f8n5.exe that always appears in my Documents and Settings[Username here] folder, but it always is picked up at the same time as another file called june[1].jpg that’s always in my temporary internet files.
No matter how many times I put these file in the chest (and consequently delete them) they always re-appear in the same folders. At one point, it looked like f8n5.exe was saved as an antivirus programme I never installed.
Is this malicious? How do I get rid of it before it drives me insane?
If it keeps coming back, there is likely to be an undetected or hidden element to the infection that restores or downloads the file again (hence the firewall question). What is your firewall ?
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).
