Facebook flags any odt document I created with LibreOffice as having a virus!

So, I tried to send an odt file to a friend via FB, and I get a message that “the attached file has a virus and cannot be attached”.

Seems it happens with every odt file I create (not docx or doc though). The content of the document doesn’t matter.

Here is a file and here is the virus-total report (all clean).

Avast! Free Antivirus doesn’t detect anything, while full-scans of Avast! and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware didn’t find anything on my system.

Gmail and Yahoo Mail happily accept the file.

Normally, I would file this under a false alert, but why isn’t anybody else complaining about Facebook flagging their odt files as having a virus? (I searched around) Am I the only one? How lucky am I anyway ?

PS: Either I encountered an ultra-rare virus that is completely invisible to avast and malwarebytes and infects only odt files, or there is something in the headers of the odt LibreOffice that ticks off Facebook’s virus scanner (but shouldn’t more people complain about this? that’s what bugs me)

PS: My version of LibreOffice is 4.3.1.2. Not that it matters. Odt files created with older versions get flagged too.

What malware name does avast give the file?

It doesn’t. Neither avast! nor malwarebytes detect anything.

Can you try to send via facebook the odt file I uploaded? (you can upload the file without having to actually send a message, so pick a random friend)

If someone has LibreOffice, can you create an odt using your own copy of LibreOffice Writer, and try to send it via Facebook?

Sorry for asking from you to do a chore, but I really have trouble making sense of this issue.

Malwarebytes only detect executable files…

You say avast block it as virus … but dont give it a malware name when blocked?

Avast doesn’t detect and block anything. Only Facebook does.

But why it happens only to me and to every odt I create, that’s what I can’t understand.

Can you try and send the file I uploaded via your own FB? If you can, please do it?

Can you try and create an odt, if you have LibreOffice Writer, and send it via your FB?

I dont have FB or libre office. Unless somone here have i dont see how we can help
