FAILED SENDING INFECTED FILES TO AILWIL

As wished:

Tried in many ways to send the files to AILWIL. They were detected as viruses but were in fact 98% to me FP. I haven’t tried sending them SAFE MODE with NETWORK though. I’d like instead an automated feature like in some cloud AV that you press FP button and it sends the hash file to AILWIL laboratories. 8)

you can send from avast chest

Moving files to the Virus Chest

Submitting files from the Virus Chest to avast! Virus Lab

Or do it online

or send in a password protetced zip.file to virus @ avast.com
it is recomended to use a zip program that also encrypt the content (7zip)
as some mail scanners (like Gmail) will block sending if it can see that it contain an .exe file

As I told you, those files were in use, I don’t know, I tried already sending them the way showed in your thread but it was impossible, I had a message warning me I was sending a virus. I was going to send the compressed files but got the nerves and rather deleted the files and later uninstalled Wild Tangent Games as I don’t play. Still, I’d like my new feature being implemented!

The fact that the file is in use shouldn’t stop you from making a copy, e.g. add to chest as that is what it does, make a copy

When you start trying to work with a file when it is infected/suspect avast will alert. That is why the add to chest and send from the chest works best as it is avast itself that is doing the accessing.

So I honestly don’t know what was going on in your system that is stopping the file being added to the chest as outlined in the first link or sending it from the chest as in the second link.

What is wrong with the existing functionality when a file is detected, there is a link to report as a false positive in the alert window is there not (image1).

To send the offending/suspect file/s to VT: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here, post the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.

Create a folder called Suspect in the C: drive. Now exclude that folder in the File System Shield, Expert Settings, Exclusions, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect*
That will stop the File System Shield scanning any file you put in that folder.

Thanks David R, it’ll be known for “next time”…!

You’re welcome.
