Running Windows 7 X64, latest Avast (11.2.2262) and latest definitions. Can surf away without issue on a wired gigabit connection into my 240Mbit broadband.
Tried creating a rescue disk with either USB or for CD, getting “Failed to create rescue disk”. Any ideas? Tried running the software as admin, same thing…
This may be a work around to allow the creation of a rescue disk, but it isn’t a fix for this bug. Never had to do this prior to the latest programme update, and now I’m getting the following error on my Full and daily differential backups.
Files could not be copied:
C:\Windows\Temp_avast_\unp107145422.tmp\WinPE2\mount\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-erratamanager_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.9200.16384_none_6ad183843d4096d9\errata.inf",“88 KB”,“1/05/2016 10:17 AM”,“1/05/2016 10:17 AM”
Looks like theirs something ‘not right’ Avast’s WinPE.
I get this rescue disk error on all computers with the latest AVAST programme update.
A repair install doesn’t fix it.
Anyone got a fix that doesn’t compromise AVAST, and are the AVAST tech’s working on the bug?
How is your problem related to the Rescue Disk Creation ???
I suggest you start your own topic and post your problem there with as much information as possible.
It’s related, because it’s a symptom of the ‘failed to create repair disk’ bug. The Avast repair disk creator uses WinPE to create the disk. The file that’s not being backed up is created by the Avast repair disk process.
