failed to init aswData.dll

avast! free - latest version (sorry after last update don’t have access to avast! interface so can’t get you version or virus definition)
AVG Free - uninstalled
Zonealarm Free

Hi,

Just did an update using the avast! interface. (I’ve only been using avast! for a week or so, I registered it after installation).

It appeared to install OK and I did reboot as recommended. When it restarted it came up with the following error "failed to init aswData.dll.

I now cannot access avast! and the little icon on the bottom right of the screen has disappeared.

Any help would be appreciated.

Download Free from my signature by clicking on the bold, blue “Free”.

Install from that file (no uninstall needed), reboot.

All I got was 403 - Forbidden
