contain a false information concerning a Microsft IE, Outlok and OExpress:
TEXT:
“This is the latest version of security update, the ‘May 2005, Cumulative Patch’ update which resolves all known security vulnerabilities affecting MS Internet Explorer, MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express”.
When opened, the attach install on your PC the Virus PINFI and another Trojan not well identified.
Microsoft doesn’t send security updates by email so anything suggesting it is one should be deleted without opening and than clear the deleted items email folder.
Microsoft will send you emails only if you have registered for their notification service, so you shouldn’t receive any unsolicited (spam) or unexpected email from MS.
W32.Pinfi… That’s a major virus. It will spread to over 100 files in a short time. It will corrupt program files. If you were infected, you probably gotten a file corrupted error message from the programs (mostly application and driver installers) you want to run.
It also will corrupt the files of the programs you want to run. It will spead to all HDDs that are writable!!!
Good thing, friend Kamulko again warns against these e-mail dangers. People are so easily misled. One virus later, and they have learnt their lesson, but than it is too late. Never trust any of these viruses, even if they were sent by Microsoft’s Bill Gates himself, your admin, your ISP, your webmaster, your bank, your family advisor, what have ye!. Normally they would not do these things. They have it on a website, they put it in a paper, but they are not to send you mails that you do not expect. For non-english residents, these mails, if ever, wouldn’t be in English. It is a trick to lure people into opening these mails and OOOPS, Oh My Great Grandfathers…virus. Scan all mails. Put them to an external spam filter, Mailwasher for instance, throw 'them away, they are clotting the internet, they are overloading the backbone of the net, they are a nuisance, they hinder, it is virus spam.
