False notifications of 131226-1 update

I started up my computer about 30 min ago and got the 131226-1 update, I now just got another notification that I got the 131226-1 update.

Is anyone else having this issue?

No such problem here, I suggest you reboot your machine.

I just noticed that there is an avast! program update. I am going to try doing that. I know lately avast! has been having problems with update announcements (sometimes you get a VPN advert instead of the update popup, etc.), maybe the software update announcement is getting tripped up.

I did the avast! update, my computer rebooted, another false notification… Each reboot another false notification…

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

It seems that may have fixed the issue. I am going to sleep now, but I will reply back in the morning if the problem returns
