False Positive: Avast doesn't like Linux Mint running in VirtualBox

Yesterday, I switched to avast after MSE broke because of an update. Today, I decide to open up VirtualBox and play around with my XP VM. Avast then detects My Linux Mint VM (Full Path: C:\Documents and Settings\George.VirtualBox\HardDisks\Linux Mint.vdi) as Win:Jifas-EN[Trj]. There doesn’t seem to be an option to ignore the file. If I click Move To Chest, it fails with an invalid parameter. I’ve tried adding this to the ignore list, but everytime it detects it, it removes the exclusion for some reason. It’s basically an infinite loop of annoyance.

I have excluded .vhd and .vdi files from avast scanning (exclusion list)… It’s always susceptible to false positives.
Most probably the file is too big to be chested.
Which is exactly the path you’ve added to the exclusion list and which list did you add it?

No go, still detecting it, have the latest updates. I added the folder path: C:\Documents and Settings\George.VirtualBox\HardDisks\ to the exclusion list under expert settings under file shield, and to the one under settings.

Bump. Still getting this. I’ve added everything I could think of to the exclusions list.

Is the asterisk appended when you enter the exclusion?

Yes.
