False Positive - Can't restore file from Chest

Hey’a Guys,

I am running Vista Home Premium, and Avast! v4.7.1043. I have WYSIWYG WebBuilder, which Avast has falsley picked up a virus within WB’s Executable. I know it’s a false positive, because on the WB website, everyone is reporting the same thing…lol. Anyway, that doesn’t worry me…Avast! is still my favourite! The problem is when I first was alerted to the ‘virus’ by Avast, I chose to put it in the chest as I suspected it wasn’t a true reading. Then I tried to email the file to Avast!, but it wouldn’t send as it was too bid. Once I was sure it was a false alert, I went to the virus chest to try to put it back where it came from. So I right-clicked on the file, and clicked on ‘restore’. Nothing happens. I would be delighted if one of you bright sparks could help me restore it, else I’ll have to reinstall the whole programme. I’d rather not do that if I can help it.

Cheers,

Tinks.

well I’m having the same problem. if you shut avast off Web Builder will run but then you have no protection

hah… noticed it yesterday… it’s a false positive in Win32:Jolla detection, i’ve fixed it immediately and the problem should be solved with new VPS…

I have the sam problem, I had to turn the Avast OFF every time I wat to use WYSIWYG Web Builder.
That is NOT a good suluion, I should think that a software company like Avast should be too seriose to let
this error continue.

I tried with other antivirus programs as well, like NOD32, and the WYSIWYG Web Builder are CLEAN!

What is wrong with Avast?

no, you don’t have to turn off avast when you want to use WYSIWYG Web builder… you can add it to exclusions… wait for new VPS, the problem will be fixed…
