Good Evening, I’m new here, and I’m hoping this is the right forum for this. As of late, Avast has taken to finding my mail password viewer to be infected with some type of Trojan. Yet, when I look it up on the internet I’m surprised to see that it is not. The file in question is win32:passview-T. The file is not infected by any virus as I download it directly from the creator’s website and it is scanned before it is installed.
Can someone please give me an idea on how to stop it from being found as a Trojan, as I’ve even tried excluding it from being scanned to no avail.
Thank you,
Logan_2057
The file is not infected by any virus as I download it directly from the creator's website........and where is that ?
upload suspicious file(s) to www.virustotal.com and test with 40+ malware scanners
when you have the result, copy the url in the address bar and post it here for us to see
send the file to avast lab so they can correct the false positive
send to virus @ avast.com in a password protected zip.file
Mail subject: False Positive
zip password: infected
File is not a virus but flagged as a risktool. A risktool is any that you are not familiar with.
