False Positive In Steam Client

When my Steam client did an automatic update tonight avast marked one of the files it downloaded as a virus and stopped Steam from running.
The File was:
sdl.dll
and it was marked as:
Threat:Win32:Malware-gen

I don’t think this is a virus.
What should I do?

I cant download that program. The download link just loops back to the applications page.
