Came here to report the same problem using 080529-1. Tried uploading it on the website and it passed using 080527-1
@ Tech
Rather than Alwil download it (89.59MB) wouldn’t it be better/easier to send the odbc2.dll file that is being detected to the usual virus (at) avast dot com.
How to extract it without installing it?
But your finding it on your E: drive so it is on your system so there must be a way of extracting it (with standard shield paused) without having to install it.
See this, there are lots of hits not all will be applicable, I just cobbled together the search string, it could be refined, http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=extract+file+from+within+instalation+.exe+file.
This is one I found that might do the job, UniExtract http://www.softpedia.com/get/Compression-tools/Universal-Extractor.shtml.
It seems very handy I’m downloading it now.
It’s packed into a 91Mb exe file…
I’ll try an unpacker later… Thanks David.
Whilst waiting on the dial-up to download I kept on rummaging and there might be something in Vista to extract the files from an installation .exe using the right click menu (not on XP Pro), see image.
Though if it is there it won’t be neat either as it looks like it only has Extract Files… or Extract Here… nothing about extracting a single file. Better luck with the UniExtract program, free GPL software.
Ok…
I thought Alwil could do some job here and does not let everything to us to do ;D
fixed (at least internally)
Thanks for the attention.
