Edit------------------------------------------------------------

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAM TILL I FOUND OUT THE TRUTH!

Creating a new topic because you might not like the answers you got in the original topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=38310.0 won’t change the information/facts in that topic.

By your own admission.

We gave advice to upload the file to virustotal and post the results but you chose not to do that. So we have to go on the information we have, unless you do as suggested and provide us with information other than your protestation that it isn’t doesn’t change our advice.

This should really have been with ‘all’ the other information on your original topic.

The one way to clear this up once and for all is to do as we suggested upload to virustotal and post the results.

You’re playing with fire…

Hi Tech,

Who wants a program with a rootkit? No-one. Who is downloading this deliberately even when being warned?
Some people do all to undo infections and others all to get infected,

polonus

Worst for me…

You are still trying to cheat or crack a program owned by INCA Internet.

Please see the results of this ScanDoo/google search.

http://g.s.scandoo.com/search?hl=en&q=localhost.exe+5.3&start=10&sa=N

The Maple Story game would be much more fun played correctly than what you are going through now … and the results that may come from trying to crack the game.

Hi CharleyO,

Yes this process is called “cracking” and there is a better way that is called reverse engineering.
Reverse engineering is now only allowed in specific instances and for specific purposes and in specific settings only.
There are sites to learn these skills: http://www.woodmann.com/fravia/ etc.
Know that crack sites and information “on this lore” is utterly riddled with malware all sorts, because there are parties that are not particularly applauding hacking/cracking/reverse engineering skills. The situation since 1991 in the EU and especially in the States have dramatically changed so that reverse engineering is rather frowned upon to say the least, and quite a bit so, to say that mildly, even for personal (teaching) non-commercial purposes. In the old days people could take technical things apart to get wiser during the process (the sixties of the previous century), now in many cases it is considered a copyright infringement and illegal, another way to steer away from this is to just buy the program or build a better one yourself,

polonus

For Example
MSDOS was Digital Research CPM reverse engineered by Seattle Computer Products which then was quickly bought by Gates when Digital Research President went flying instead of meeting with IBM.
IBM, stood up, called the vendor of “Microsoft Basic”

Here “reverse engineered” is charitable

Nowadays one group would “reverse engineer” and write a protocol and specification
Then a separate group would recode the application.

*Note
Reverse engineering of Microsoft products is hazardous as the application may not match the specifications, meaning that you have to emulate the “features” (bugs) also

I made that topic and i yes did not like the answer i got so i ran some tests in my virtual box and this is what i got!
avast says no virus and it did not to any thing to the virtual box!

Edit--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
fine if you guys dont belive me i well do the virus total thing!
i jest came to tell you didnt know you would make a big deal out of it!

Edit-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and if i have to go up in the ranks so you people well believe me i well!
i am jest trying to help! and my emails on the fritz…
but avast said it was not a virus!

“but avast said it was not a virus!”

Could you post a copy of the e-mail or copy of a pm or a post from someone at avst that said that it was not a virus?
I do not see any such correspondence in this post
Is it in the other one?
thanks

THIS THREAD IS CLOSED FOR NOW PLEASE DO NOT POST!

Thanks for the clarifications, Polonus & Wyrmrider.
