False Positive: squint2.exe - the application is being blocked by Avast

Hello,

my first post here, didn’t see any stickies on how to write a proper false positive report, please forgive me if this is a wrong forum for this kind of thing.

I am using a certain piece of soft called Squint (here’s the homepage: https://sites.google.com/site/macsarmatools/squint), and in the last couple of weeks it hasn’t been working. I don’t know all the details of how it works, but it seems that Avast is blocking it. scanning the .exe manually returns no threat reports.

I am not the only one who’s having this problem, you can read a couple of reports here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?105860-Squint-the-sqf-editor-and-error-checker&p=2301299&viewfull=1#post2301299

The author suggested we submitted the .exe to you, guys. What would I need to do to make it happen? So you could confirm it’s infected or take it off Avast’s list?

Send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
Mail subject: false positive
Zip password: infected

will do, thanks!

watching this for results, any virus threat within our games community can’t be taken light …

thanks sprockrock for the steps
