False positive while compiling software

Hi, I’ve been in the process of writing software that monitors several registry keys including the Security Center key. The app reads the various keys, but does not write to them. When I go to compile my app, Avast! will cause it to hang for about 10 seconds and then kill it. Once that happens, I have to manually rebuild the app because Avast has flagged it as a trojan and quarantined the newly compiled executable. So far, the only 2 options that I see are to either send you a copy (not possible since it’s copyrighted by another party) or turn off Avast!.

Any other options?

BTW, shouldn’t you only react negatively to writes and not to reads? Reading a key has never caused a problem that I know of…

Thanks
