(False Positive) Win32:EVO-Gen found in Daum PotPlayer 1.6.50945 Update!

Hello,

I use a wonderful media player called Daum PotPlayer and they release updates daily. And Avast is blocking the latest version 1.6.50945 and says it has Win32:EVO-Gen (Susp). This is becoming a very popular media player and has always been very clean of any virus. So this must be a False Positive.

I have actually noticed with most potplayer updates Avast never complains but once in a while Avast reports that Potplayer has a virus and will not let me download it.

Can you guys fix this please?

Also here is where I normally get the Pot player updates from.

And here is the download link for the update with the issue.

Also I would highly recommend anyone looking for the ultimate Video player to give Potplayer a look.

Thanks

And Avast is blocking the latest version 1.6.50945 and says it has Win32:EVO-Gen (Susp).
no it does not say it has avast say it is ;) Win32:EVO-Gen (Susp) = Suspicious

True

But Avast should not be Suspicious of Potplayer

Also I sent an email to Avast.

if it is new/just updated it may happen…

How long does it take took usually fix these False Positives?

Because another version was released 1.6.51015 and that to is being blocked by Avast :frowning:

I’m telling you guys Potplayer is clean!

Hello,
it will be fixed in next stream update (in 10 minutes).

Milos

Thanks Milos
