False Positive

Starting with VPS version 0645, the Protected Storage Pass Viewer (pspv) has been detected as a virus. It is not a virus. In fact, it is one of the most valuable utilities on my PC.

Please read the following:

I hope you will correct this problem soon.

As you can see from your own link to the FAQs, etc. it is a common occurrence (for a long time) that AVs have been flagging this tool, which could I guess be used for good or evil. I have this and another password revealer, the one that shows the text below the **** and they are both flagged. I know why, because an anti virus can’t determine intent, so I don’t worry about the detection, I also store then in a folder that I have excluded from avasts scans.

You could send the sample to virus @ avast.com (without the spaces) zipped and password protected with password in email body and possible false positive in the subject. Though I’m not sure it would lead to it being changed, your best bet woult be add it to the exclusions lists (Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced and Program Settings, Exclusions).
