False-Positives?

I usually do monthly complete malware scans to my computer with avast!. All reports usually comes clean.

But today was an exception. And it was a surprise cause my computer is always clean.

Last scan was done 1 week ago and it was a quick scan. It came clean.
Today, avast! found 5 theats (?). See attach below.

I don’t believe is malware since is from the SuperAntispyware app. I got the on-demand version, by the way.

I can take a print screen with the results in english if needed.

Thanks in advance.

so you did a custom scan and selected “scan memory” …you are not the first to do that

avast then detected SAS signatures loaded in memory

Not false positives and it isn’t SAS’s SuperAntiSpyware.exe being detected, but the signatures it loaded into memory.

Detections in Memory - My guess is that you are doing a Custom scan in which you have elected to scan Memory and that all these detections are in memory. Since they aren’t physical files they can’t be moved to the chest, deleted, etc. so there is no action that can be taken, hence the Apply button being greyed out.

The detections in memory are frequently other security applications loading unencrypted virus signatures into memory. Having set off a scan of memory by an antivirus application looking for virus signatures, don’t be too surprised if it finds some in memory.

Yes. I’ve created an custom scan who basically has all the options selected for a deeper scan and Memory Scan is selected.

So the false threats are not dangerous since they are only SAS signatures, right?
