i have used avast for a couple of years now and never had this using the same progs!!! avast doesnt like mirc6.12, so i went back to 5.91 - which i have used since the late 90’s with no probs with my systems. i also use a modified mirc client called polaris which is based on mirc 5.91t and has also been used since the early 2000’s. now suddenly (within the past week) avast has gone ballistic and tells me i have a generic trojan and proceeds to ‘neuter’ the mirc prog…i have looked and looked for somewhere to tell avast to ignore mirc and its variations, i found a place and added the directory locations but to no avail, it still freaks out and scrambles the mirc client. i KNOW what i have and have even gone back to backup cd’s burned in '91 but avast keeps stalking me. why is it doing this and why did it tolerate it for several years and how can i make it behave and leave my mirc’s alone??? i had to uninstall avast so i could function. i like it - except for this abberation - and want to continue to use it…HELP!!! aloha
Please pack the mirc file into a password-protected ZIP or RAR (e.g. using “virus” as password) and send it to virus@avast.com
Thanks.
