We have tried a number of antivirus/firewall/spam filters over the years including Norton, McAfee, Bit Defender, Trend, Virgin etc
The problems we have had across the board in the past have been ‘too intrusive’ and ‘detrimental to performance especially at startup’
Recently our needs have significantly changed and we have moved from a PC and Lap top to a PC and 2 laptops, a tablet and 2 Android smart phones all using a home network and all the mobile devices using wifi and mobile broadband on the go. We anticipate doing a lot more streaming in the future and recognise that we need to get our e-security sorted out.
We have trialled the free version of Avast on one of the lap tops and are much impressed
Question 1 - Do Avast offer a family license which would enable us to protect all of our devices under one fee?
Question 2 - Does the full product have any significant overheads that we would notice such as performance or intrusiveness
