Hi,

I get an .apk file download when I click on the link you posted.

Filip

Me too.

Same here, using firefox 12.0, opens my download window and downloads correctly.

I downloaded and installed avast mobile security and I have one stupid question:

If my mobile phone get stolen how and where I can active remotely the Theft system of Avast ? I didnt do any kind of registering and the login of the forum is different of the mobile login so how I can activate the features of Avast?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi,

you don’t activate it remotely, you have to activate it on the device (set up Anti-Theft through the app dashboard). After setting up you can control the app via SMS. Internet control is coming, but you will have to activate it on the device anyway.

hello,I have down load avast mobile total security antivirus which provide security to our mobile phone.
Thanks.

Thank you

guys, help please.
avast mobile security blocks himself.

I wish I could help… But I do not read a word there

Hi,

there is something wrong with your AMS installations. Try clearing AMS data in your device Settings and run AMS again.

By the way, I don’t get why people always say “avast! blocks itself” when the message says “Invalid context during scan” or some other error and the result is yellow. It clearly doesn’t say it found malware in itself.

Hi, I would appreciate if anyone could help on my situation here. I’ve been directed by Avast Support to this thread. I get the error notification from avast which reads:“invalid context during scan” whenever I have installed an app or update. Upon further checking, it has come to my attention that this error message is caused by virus definition not up to date. However, many attempts to update my virus definition failed with error message:“downloaded virus definition file is invalid, please try again later”. I thought the app support auto update of virus definition, but it seems not doing so.
What can be done to solve this issue? Please help!

Hi,

they sent you to the right place, even though you should have started a new topic, but never mind! I have dealt with several situations you are describing and they were never caused by avast! application themselves. Most probable causes:

  1. You use some advanced application(s) that modify the installation of avast! apps (possibly on a rooted device). Note that sometimes you might not even be aware that they are doing so since they don’t claim it directly.
  2. You downloaded the installation .apk from some 3rd party market where AVAST doesn’t officially distribute it’s application. Those markets might have altered the installation file so it’s not compatible now.
  3. Your Internet provider is messing up the download of virus definitions (easily tested - disconnect from Internet completely, delete AMS data in device Settings - in English a button “clear data” - start AMS and let it run the first scan, if it turns out OK, it’s your providers fault somehow).

me ajude.

Hi there,

some contribution from me in regards to the problem “invalid context” etc.
Got the same problem and what I´ve done shortly before I´ve noticed those messages is a manual backup with MyBackup Pro. I´ve a rooted i9300 - Samsung S3 JB 4.1.1 and the backup type was application + application data.
MyBackupPro stores the backup as APK (apps) and Zip files (app data). I assume that for some reason this may be the culprit.

the affected apps are: Phone, XiiaLive Pro, TouchWiz, Astrid, Clock, E-mail, Messages , MyBaackupPro and Avast.

I guess I can safely ignore those messages unless I hear something else in this forum thread.

UPDATE: I´ve just seen the many posts in the forum about this topic. So I guess I´ll have to wait for an update to fix this issue.

Cheers

Hi,

it’s already fixed. You can try manually updating the definitions (AMS-Settings-Updates-Check for updates now) or you can wait for the app to pick them up automatically.

Filip

Thanks Filip, a manual update throughs me an error “invalid definitions”. I guess I´ll have to try it later.

Hi,

if you have “unknown” version of virus definitions, please, wait for an app update that is coming soon that should fix this.

Hi. Is there any possibility to completly turn off Avast? I have device with 256MB RAM. When I kill Avast process in Task Manager, it appears again in few sec. I know, it’s not recomended, but i want to turn it off.

Hi,

not as a whole I think, but if you disable all the realtime shields and network meter then it shouldn’t consume much memory if you don’t use it for a while.

Filip

Thank you for reply. After this action, it consumes 6,4MB RAM. Not bad, but I’m still thinking about “freeze” Avast by titanium Backup, but this is only premium option, not avaiable in free version.
Edit: Okay, I foud free app with this same function - AppQuarantine. But thank you for your help
