My Avast program was not working properly - it hung up during a routine scan. After renewing my account it would not let me select the improve your performance option. Went to uninstall it using the avast clear utility so that I could re-install it and run whatever optimizing software you sell to speed up and clean up my computer. Went to safe mode properly on computer prompt with nothing on in background. Now it is stuck in some sort of loop and won’t boot up at all. Did read about starting from a start up disc (Vista though). Did try to get it to run the start and repair function - no luck there. So I am not very happy about this. I’ve used avast for a number of years and have been happy with it - I’m not sure that the entire problem wasn’t a corrupted avast upgrade. I’m writing this from a backup computer.
hey and welcome to the forum ray3PWn sometimes when running the registry cleaner that comes with avast can make your computer unbootable.
if you have run it you can go into avast and reverse that clean procces and see if that could solve your problems.
if you have done a os reinstall then i would suggest you uncheck the installation of the registry program that comes with avast.
if you want a registry cleaner that is good and use here one the forum i can suggest you download and install ccleaner its safe to use.
if you still have problems to boot your computer and wants a check up you can go to this guide and attach a frst+addation log and let a malware expert help you out
