Thanks Tech.
Which to download hereTech?
How do I run this, xmarks-3.1.1.xpi downloaded file, Tech?
If you have firefox (which the xpi file is for) then all you need to do is double click the file and firefox should run the add-on installation.
Ok thanks DavidR.
You can synchronize favorites with Windows (Firefox, IE) and Linux (Firefox) even.
But to run the file one need FF correct as DavidR suggested?
I’ve always used MozBackup for backing up and restoring my FF and TB profiles. The cool thing is that it can backup everything from stored passwords, extensions, cookies, settings, cache etc. Highly recommend it for any FF and Thunderbird user.

EDIT: I just realized it also supports Songbird which is a very cool media player i’ve just discovered. I’ve dumped Winamp for this one …
That’s a handy site to know because I used to Export my Favorites to a floppy then Import them on my other systems.
Yes. Or you can run Firefox and open the file within it.
MozBackup is a must have
I’m a trusting sod NOT and I wouldn’t place my back-ups on-line. I also have a problem of having back-ups on-line even if I trusted them. Back-ups are normally needed when the dark brown stuff hits the fan and you may not have internet access.
So for me back-ups have to be available off-line where they are accessible when it hits the fan.
Synchronization works as backup. I see no problems on having the favorites backup online, neither files if you use a safe and trust online backup provider (like Mozy).
With XMarks you can export your favorites to work with them offline, no problems.
But one need to have a Mozilla family Browser for Xmarks like FF.
I don’t like anything from the Mozilla family because I started with IE and like it so have become used to its quirks and features and for me seeing red is a warning sign.
IE is like my comfy slippers that have adjusted to my feet and thus make me feel at home not having to do battle with the malware riddled Internet.
Some people like FF and some people like IE then some people hate IE and become FF fanboys:

No, it works on IE as well.
