I gave them a bogus address to see the results ;D
click on pic to enlarge ::slight_smile:

Plus it needs Java and I don’t use that ;D

Not sure what’s going on, I went to the first site OK, but when I clicked on the FCC link I got a restricted site warning in IE8. It seems that one of the sites is trying to do a redirect to another site.

hxxp://media.fastclick.net/w/get.media?sid=47420&m=5&tp=6&url=http%3A//www.broadband.gov/&no_cj_c=1&upsid=093832192593

This could be because of Spywareblaster.

@ Marc57

media.fastclick.net is blocked for me in my HOSTS file.

yeah it’s the FCC, they’re testing and want to make useful statistics at the same time >>> broadband map in the US. But I quite understand those not willing to give away their address etc… I wouldn’t do it either (if I lived in the US).

Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware?

Over the past 90 days, media.fastclick.net appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 11 sites including smacchat.com/, n4g.com/, gossipcenter.com/.

Has this site hosted malware?

Yes, this site has hosted malicious software over the past 90 days. It infected 10 domains, including celebrity-gossip.net/, gossipcenter.com/, 181.fm/, so

I also would protect my privacy, and in the light of coming regulations I would not like to be a sitting duck for “content rights bounty hunters”, they sure see golden times arising when their Acta laws are being brought in, and what guarantee do you have what the data you give in are going to be used for? I would be rather cautious,
