If everything were included in the free version, then there wouldn’t be any need for a paid version.
Without a paid version, there would also probably not be an Avast.
You you want a paid feature, you’ll need to pay for it or find an alternative.
As I said, I have no problems if ashcmd is dumbed down.
There are many ways to dumb it down – providing a very minimum subset of features, no support for scanning directories, maybe supporting scanning only one file per call of ashcmd etc. etc.
