hi, i don’t see the thread for Avast ISS feature requests so thought i’d try to post here…(maybe the mods will move this thread if necessary)

would be great for the firewall on ISS if there was an option to just display a small one line popup for a few seconds(lower right side of screen perhaps) that such and such program is (trying to or is) accessing the internet, depending on what we allowed in the settings…this would be a good solution as far as keeping an eye on somewhat less trusted apps or exe’s are doing without having to keep checking the “allow” button on the large popups or having to bring up the firewall connection screen - realize i could change the settings on each individual program but i like to see which programs are calling out…also would help if we could change the default settings on the firewall popup so that the “remember this setting” box isn’t automatically checked because i have to uncheck it every time…seems like unchecked would be the default setting…

also, i’m not sure what kind of a hit this would put on a computer’s resources but as it seems like the Avast ISS is very light even on my netbooks for what it is already able to do, i’m wondering if its possible for ISS to watch all executable files that try to start on the computer and allow us to set rules for running these executables the same way we can for their internet access and also monitor the executables with MD5/SHA hashes to make sure they haven’t been changed by malware…
there is a program out there called “Anti-Executable” that does this but charges about $30/year per license and seems like the Avast ISS is already half-way there to doing what this program does and it would add much value to ISS in terms of fighting/preventing malware…
any thoughts on these ideas?
