hi all
if i add a free spyware program does that cover an area that my avast does not?
help!!
thanks…so much
A rootkit is designed to ‘hide’ malware and it could be hiding the file or files that are restoring what is detected by avast.
No single application is going to provide total cover and when ‘complimentary’ applications are used they can improve overall protection/detection.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and periodically run them.
- Ewido, a.k.a. avg anti-spyware If using winXP. or a-Squared free if using win98/ME.
- Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition
- Spybot Search and Destroy
- Spywareblaster Don’t install this until you are clean.
I suggest you visit this page http://www.antirootkit.com/software/index.htm for antirootkit detection, removal & protection.
There you can find some info about them…
