I have Avast SecureLine VPN installed on my computer, but It’s slowing down my internet. I’ve tested this: When I have it on, logging into a new page takes about 5-7 seconds. When I have it off it only takes about 1-2 seconds. Is anybody else having this problem? Or is it just me?

If one thinks about it, your connection out can be as simple as router to ISP, ISP to your website.
Now, it is VPN>Router>ISP>Avast>Avast to your website. VPN adds a layer or two to a normal connection and some network overhead is lost. All for the price of anonymity.
All/any VPN will slow internet movement/connection to a certain degree. Also depending on time of day and VPN server used by others (how busy it is). Also the location of chosen VPN. Not to mention the points Mchain laid out.
